Children of God

This month we are being encouraged with some of the blessings that we receive when we receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. Be encouraged by Ephesians 1:3 which says “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (NIV) This week we are going to be encouraged with the fact that when we accept Jesus Christ as or personal Lord and Savior, then we become children of God!

When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, then we do in fact become children of God! John 1:12-13 says “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. (NIV) When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior then, God’s Holy Spirit lives in our inner being! Ephesians 1:13-14 says “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. (NIV) In our Savior Jesus, we are God’s precious children and we have the Holy Spirit living in us, in our inner being! In our Savior Jesus we inherit eternal life!

We are blessed with all of these endless perfect blessings by God’s grace in our Savior Jesus who died on the cross to save us from our sins. We deserve death and punishment because of our sins, (Romans 6:23) but God who is rich in mercy, has blessed us with His grace and His free gift of Salvation in Jesus. Galatians 4:4-7 says “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. (NIV) Before we accepted Jesus as our personal Savior, we were slaves to sin. Without our Savior Jesus living in us we are all slaves to sin, for we are all sinners. (Romans 3:23) But when we accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, we were forgiven for all of our past, present and future sins for all of eternity in Him! In Jesus, none of our sins will ever be counted against us. In our Savior Jesus, we have been reconciled to God and we have the Holy Spirit living in our inner being! As we read in Galatians 4, we have the Spirit of God’s Son, the Holy Spirit, living in us and we are God’s children! We are no longer slaves to sin but children of God! Since we are children of God, God has also made us heirs! We are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ! (Romans 8:17)

In our Savior Jesus, we are children of God who have the Holy Spirit living in our inner being! Praise God! We read in Romans 8:16 that “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. (NIV) We are perfectly and eternally blessed in our Savior Jesus! We have the Holy Spirit living in our inner being and we are children of God! In Jesus we inherit eternal life! God lives in us, in our inner being! How incredible is that! That is a perfect never ending blessing that we do not deserve! Praise God for His perfect endless grace! Not only is God’s Holy Spirit living in our inner being, but His Holy Spirit is also interceding for us helping us in every way making us glorify our God! Romans 8:26-28 says “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (NIV) Praise God for this incredible blessing! We have the Holy Spirit of God living in our inner being interceding for us! The Holy Spirit intercedes for us in prayer! We do not know what we need or what we should pray for but God knows exactly what we need and God’s Holy Spirit intercedes for us in a way that only He can! God’s Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to God’s will! God blesses us with exactly what we need in each moment of our life even though we do not know what we need! We always have exactly what we need with God’s Holy Spirit living in our inner being! Praise God for we are perfectly and eternally blessed!

Go forth Praising God for your salvation in your Savior Jesus! Praise God for His Holy Spirit living in your inner being! Praise God that He always works everything out for your good! (Romans 8:28) Praise God that He has blessed you to be His precious chosen child, God’s child who has eternal life in His Son Jesus! You are a child of the one and only living God of all creation! You have a Heavenly Father who loves you perfectly and who has called you to eternal life! You have the one and only living God of all creation living in your inner being! you lack nothing! Enjoy this blessed life to which God has called you in His Son and live to glorify your Father in Heaven! Go forth always rejoicing in the Lord for, in your Savior Jesus, you have been redeemed, you are eternally forgiven, you have the assurance of eternal life and you have God’s Holy Spirit living in your inner being as you are a child of God! Praise God for we are perfectly and eternally blessed in our Savior Jesus! We get to enjoy a perfectly blessed future and an eternal future with our Savior in heaven!

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, then do not delay another moment! God has brought you here and He is working in your heart and in your life at this very moment! God loves you perfectly as you are and He wants you to come to Him just as you are. God is longing for you and your heart! If you have come to understand and admit that you are a sinner and you believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross to save you from your sins, then you can invite Jesus into your heart and your life as your personal Lord and Savior. You can pray a prayer like this:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I know that I am a sinner and that I need Jesus to save me. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins and that He rose to life again. God I am sorry for my sin. I invite Jesus into my heart and my life as my personal Lord and Savior. I commit my life to you.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

God is full of mercy and grace and He richly blesses us with both even though we do not deserve either! Praise God for His free gift of Salvation in His Son Jesus and the perfect eternal blessings which we receive in Him alone!
