This months Scripture writing/reading plan is all about the Sovereignty of God. God is in control of all things and His will is always done. He is the one and only living God of all creation! God created all things including this beautiful world we live in and the heavens above! Genesis 1:1 says “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (NIV) God created everything in this world, all of the animals, the fish of the sea and the birds of the air. God also created each and every one of us! Genesis 1:27 says “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (NIV) God created each and every one of us and He knows each and every one of us even better than we know ourselves! God knows every bit of you and your inner being better than you do. God knows every one of our inner thoughts and He knows every word that we are going to speak even before we utter a word. Psalm 139:4 says “Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. (NIV) God knows everything we are going to do before we do it! (Psalm 139:1-3) God knows our hearts and our minds and despite all of our sinful ways and our sinful nature, He loves us perfectly and completely with an everlasting love!
No one is perfect and we all sin. Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (NIV) Our sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2) and our sin leads to death. (Romans 6:23) God loves us perfectly as we are even with our sinful nature. God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to save us from our sins. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (NIV) God has blessed us with this free gift of Salvation, that is only found in Jesus, and it is to be received by faith. Romans 10:9 says “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (NIV) When we come to understand and admit that we are sinners and believe in our hearts that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins, then we can invite Jesus into our hearts and our lives as our personal Lord and Savior and receive eternal life in Him! If you understand and admit that you are a sinner and believe that Jesus died on the cross to save you from your sins, then you can invite Jesus into your heart as your personal Savior. You can pray a prayer like this:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I know that I am a sinner and that I need Jesus to save me. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins and that He rose to life again. God I am sorry for my sin. I invite Jesus Christ into my heart and my life as my personal Lord and Savior. I commit my life to you.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior then we become children of God and Jesus lives in our inner being! In Jesus, we are forgiven for all of our past, present and future sins for all of eternity and in Him we receive eternal life! As children of God, we can rest assured knowing that in our Savior Jesus we have hope for our future and the hope and assurance of eternal life! We can rejoice in the Lord knowing that God is in control of all things and He always works all things out for the good of His children! (Romans 8:28) God’s will is always done! As Isaiah 46:10 says “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ (NIV) And as Isaiah 14:24 says “The LORD Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen. (NIV) Praise God that the God of all creation, Who is in control of all things, has redeemed us from sin and death and is working all things out for our good according to His will! Praise God that in our Savior Jesus, we have been reconciled to God and none of our sins will ever be counted against us! Rejoice in the Lord, for in Jesus we have peace with God and we have not a thing to worry about! For our future is secure in our Savior Jesus! We have nothing to fear! Jesus has rescued us from sin and death even though we don’t deserve it! We are God’s precious children and He will never leave us! (Deuteronomy 31:8)
As God’s precious children Jesus lives in our inner being! We are called to live our lives to glorify God and do His will. Remember, as read today, God’s will is always done! It is God who lives in us making us do His will and live in a manner that is glorifying to Him. (Philippians 2:13) All of the good in us is Christ in us! We are perfectly loved by our Creator and as His children, we are called to live our lives for Him! Let us humble ourselves before our Maker and faithfully keep His commands. As Psalm 119:73 says “Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. (NIV) As God’s children, we get to freely come before Him in prayer with confidence because, in Jesus, our sins are forgiven and we have been reconciled to God! Since we have been blessed with such freedom and confidence in the Lord, let us be faithful in coming before Him in prayer. Pray to God and ask Him to make you faithful in keeping His commands and living to glorify Him in every way. God is faithful and He knows exactly what you need even when you do not and He will bless you with exactly that in every moment of your life! Believe that you have what you ask for in prayer and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24) Remember that God instructs us in His Word and He teaches us His commands in His Word. In order to faithfully keep God’s commands we must know His commands. I encourage everyone to spend even just minutes each day in God’s Word for you will be blessed for doing so! When we spend time in God’s Word we are getting to learn all about the God who created us and the blessings to which He has called us! We also get to learn all about the commands He has given us to keep. When we faithfully spend time in God’s Word, we then know His Word better and we can reference His Word throughout our day and night being careful to keep His commands and being constantly encouraged by His Word and truth!
If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your personal Savior then I encourage you to open your heart to the Lord and turn to the God who created you and loves you perfectly! It is God who pursues our hearts even when we do not deserve His endless love and grace! God has brought you here and He is working in your heart and in your life. If God is in pursuit of your heart, and remember it is God who has brought you here, then He will not fail! Nothing and no one can stop Him! Praise God that He relentlessly pursues our hearts even though we are undeserving of Him and His perfect love for us! Don’t wait a minute longer! As Deuteronomy 4:39 says “Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. (NIV) Commit you heart and life to the God who created you!
If you have already accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior then go forth praising God and rejoicing in Him! For in Jesus you are set for all of eternity and have not a thing to fear! Enjoy being a child of the one and only living God of all creation, Who is always working everything out for your good! Be faithful in always living your life in a manner that is glorifying to God. Remember, God is faithful even when we are not! Always remember that our God is full of mercy and grace and richly blesses us with both even though we don’t deserve either! Praise God for the endless eternal blessings to which He has called you!
