Eternal Life

This month we have learned about Jesus and His sacrifice of death on the cross to save us from our sins. We learned that God, in His grace, blessed us with His free gift of Salvation in Jesus even though we deserve death and punishment because of our sins, and we learned that this free gift from God is to be received by faith. This May we are going to be encouraged with many endless blessings we receive when we receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. This week we are going to talk about eternal life!

The only way that we receive eternal life is in Jesus Christ our Savior. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (NIV) We are all imperfect and we all sin. (Romans 3:23) Our sin separates us from God and our sin leads to death. (Isaiah 59:2, Romans 6:23) Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins and only in Jesus can we be reconciled to God and be forgiven for all of our sins. When we believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as our personal Lord and Savior, then we are forgiven for all of our sins and we receive eternal life in Jesus! When we admit that we are sinners and believe in our hearts that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins, then we can invite Jesus into our hearts and our lives as our personal Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9 says “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (NIV) If you have come to understand and admit that you are a sinner and you believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross to save you from your sins, then you can invite Jesus into your heart and life as your personal Lord and Savior. You can pray a prayer like this:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I know that I am a sinner and that I need Jesus to save me. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins and that He rose to life again. God I am sorry for my sin. I invite Jesus into my heart and my life as my personal Lord and Savior. I commit my life to you.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior then you are forgiven for all of your past, present and future sins and you have been reconciled to God by the blood of His Son! Romans 8:1 says “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, (NIV) In Jesus, none of your sins will ever be counted against you and you are forgiven for all of your sins for all of eternity! Hebrews 8:12 says “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” (NIV) Praise God for His perfect grace! When we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior then God’s Holy Spirit lives in our inner being! The one and only living God of all creation lives in us, in our inner being! In Jesus we receive eternal life! 1 John 5:13 says “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. (NIV) In Jesus, we get to rest assured knowing that we have eternal life in Him and we are looking forward to an eternal future in heaven with our Savior Jesus!

If you have Jesus living in you as your personal Lord and Savior, then praise God for the blessed eternal life to which He has called you in His Son! In Jesus, you have been set free from sin and death and all of your past, present and future sins are forgiven for all of eternity! Rejoice in the Lord knowing that you have a secure future! Jesus has redeemed you from sin and death and now you get to enjoy eternal life in Him! You have not a thing to fret! You are saved, you are redeemed, and you are secure in your Savior Jesus! It is done, Jesus paid the full price for you and in Him you are eternally forgiven! Jesus lives in you and He will never leave you! You are eternally God’s precious child! You can also rest assured knowing that God works all things out for the good of His children. (Romans 8:28) Not only do you have the hope of a blessed future in Jesus but you also have the assurance of eternal life in Him! You are set for all of eternity in your Savior Jesus! Remember these incredible blessings to which God has called you and enjoy this life He has blessed you with! In Jesus, God has blessed you with true life and eternal life! Praise God for His perfect love for you and His endless grace! God knows exactly what you need in each moment in your life and He will always bless you with exactly what you need in each moment of your life! Enjoy having a blessed and secure future in Jesus! God lives in you, in your inner being, and it is God who makes you do His will! (Philippians 2:13) God will continue to work in you and through you, according to His will, to fulfill His purpose! Praise God for you are perfectly and eternally blessed in your Savior Jesus!
