Living Waters Flow From Within

Have you ever spent any time near a river or a creek or a stream of water? It is always so peaceful and there is something about that flowing water that gives us a sense of newness and rejuvenation! That water seems cleansing and nourishing. If we take a moment and listen to that water flow we are encouraged with peaceful thoughts. It is wonderful to be encouraged with these peaceful thoughts from the outside but what about having true peace on the inside? Peace in our inner being. What about having living waters that flow from within us? Let me encourage you by letting you know that it is possible to have living waters flow from within us! We can have true peace in our inner being!

When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior we become a new creation! (2 Corinthians 5:17) When we become a new creation in Christ by accepting Him as our Savior, we receive the Holy Spirit of God living in our inner being! As Acts 2:38 says “Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (NIV) And Ephesians 1:13 says “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, (NIV) If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior then you have God’s Holy Spirit living in your inner being! In your Savior Jesus you have eternal life and you are forgiven for all of your past, present and future sins for all of eternity! Only in Jesus can we have living waters flowing from within us! As John 7:38 says “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (NIV) When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, then God’s Holy Spirit lives in our inner being and we have eternal life in Jesus! When God’s Holy Spirit lives in our inner being then God’s love is seen in us and God shares His love and truth with others through us! For we have the one and only true living God of all creation living in our inner being and we have rivers of living water flowing from Him within us!

When you look at the peaceful water in the stream, remember what we read in John 4:13-14 which says “Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (NIV) When we accept God’s free gift of Salvation in His Son Jesus, then we receive eternal life in Him and through Him we have peace with God. Only with Jesus living in us as our personal Savior can we have true peace in our inner being!

Praise God for His perfect love and His endless grace! We do not deserve God’s grace but our God is rich in mercy and He always blesses us perfectly even though we never deserve it! If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, then the next time you look at a peaceful stream of water be encouraged and take a moment to praise God for your Salvation in Jesus and praise God for His Holy Spirit who lives in your inner being! Praise God for His river of living water that flows within you! Praise God for the peace that He is blessing you with around you and praise God for blessing you with true peace in you inner being! Praise God for the eternal life to which He has called you in His Son!

If you do not yet have Jesus living in you as your personal Savior then the next time you look at a peaceful stream consider what a blessing it would be to not only have peace around you but to also have true peace in yourself, in your inner being! Know that it is possible to have living waters flow from within you if you would accept God’s free gift of Salvation in Jesus! Not only would you get to have God’s living water flow from within you but you would also receive eternal Salvation in His Son and be eternally forgiven for all of your sins! God longs for you and your heart and He knows you even better than you know yourself. God loves you perfectly as you are and He wants you to come to Him just as you are in this moment! Don’t wait! Turn to God and receive His free gift of Salvation in Jesus to have true peace in your inner being and eternal life in Him! Believe in Jesus and become a new creation in Him receiving God’s Holy Spirit in your inner being! Only with God in us can we have living waters that flow from within!
